Bus Accident Settles for £9,000- Case Study
Our client was a passenger on a bus where a car collided with the side of the bus.
Our client did not claim immediately and in fact he waited until nearly 2 ½ years after the accident before contacting ourselves about a compensation claim. A follow up report was also obtained from the orthopaedic surgeon.
At this point we were weeks away from the 3 year limitation period to be able to make a personal injury claim. We issued Court proceedings to ensure that the time limit was not missed. That meant that we were able to obtain the MRI scan and a further medical report for our client without worrying that we were going to miss the time limit.
Compensation of £9,000
Once we had completed our client’s medical evidence and received his further report from the orthopaedic surgeon we sent this to the insurance company. We were able to negotiate a settlement of £9,000 for our client’s claim. All legal costs and outlays including the orthopaedic reports and MRI scans were paid for by the insurance company for the other vehicle.
